Data supply services of the DPMA

Supply of backfile data

The German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) has the duty to grant and administer industrial property rights (patents, trade marks, utility models and designs). Certain applications and the granted IP rights are published electronically at regular intervals. You can view these publications via DPMAregister

For the publication of data and for the DEPATISnet data input, the DPMA generates so-called raw data. These raw data also contain personal data which are published by the DPMA, because it has the statutory duty to do so.

Against payment of the costs for provision of data, these raw data are supplied by the DPMA to other persons on the basis of contractual agreements. These raw data can be used by customers to create their own IP databases. The DPMA promotes and simplifies the dissemination and use of German IP information by integration of IP data in such systems and services.

The DPMA offers the following technical options to receive raw data:

Before the DPMA supplies any raw data, the receiver of data must sign a contractual agreement with the DPMA. The agreement governs the terms and conditions of use.

A list of the present receivers of data is available:

If you or your company wish/es to receive raw data, please fill in the respective agreement including the annex and send them in duplicate to
